A CYCLIST has breathed a sign of relief after a mountain bike which was stolen last year has been found by police.
Police carried out a warrant in Old Trafford and discovered a mountain bike at the site, which checks showed belongs to a resident in Atherton who reported it was taken in 2020.
An officer then contacted the owner to let them know about the find and arranged for it to be returned tomorrow.
A Stretford police spokesman said: "Warrant conducted in Old Trafford recently.
"A mountain bike was checked and the serial number revealed it to have been stolen from Atherton last year!
"Lovely phone call letting the owner know they can collect it tomorrow!
"Please note your bike frame number down should the worse happen."
