A MAN was taken to hospital with "potentially serious injuries" after the collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian, North West Ambulance said.
Emergency services attended Newton Road, Lowton shortly before 2.20pm on Saturday (April 10) to a report of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a pedestrian.
Police said the man cyclist was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance with injuries.
Officers attended to assist with road closures in the area.
A cordon was out in place and the road was reopened later on during yesterday afternoon.
A North West Ambulance spokesman has clarified that the injuries sustained were "potentially serious".
added: "A 999 call was received at 2.10pm reporting a road traffic collision between a bicycle and a pedestrian.
"Two patients were treated at the scene.
"We have taken one man to hospital with potentially serious injuries."
