LEIGH boss John Duffy was left frustrated by the way his side fell apart in the second half at Salford.
Centurions, leading 8-6 at the break, fell apart after a 63rd minute Ken Sio try leading to a blow-out score at the end.
Duffy tried to draw some positives from his team's first 40 - and also the debut of Anthony Gelling.
He said: "It is so frustrating. A great first half from us and then we don’t compete in the second half like we wanted to.
"We can take positives from the first half, but the game is for 80 minutes.
"There are still 40 minutes there where we could and should have done better.
"We were still in the game when they made that long break and our heads went and we gave up.
"It is a mentality thing with the squad is a massive challenge for us and we have to be better there, stay in the grind and stay in the game.
"The mentality is in there from within and you have to have that fire in your belly when you go behind in games."
Duffy explained that Lewis Tierney hurt his back in the warm up and could not play.
His replacement, Keanan Brand, had a fine game until his hamstring injury.
"We are not having much luck with injuries," he said.
"I thought Anthony Gelling was outstanding. He led from the front and caused loads of problems for them. I was happy with his performance."
