AN INDEPENDENT electrical wholesaler has moved into new premises at Moss Industrial Estate allowing customers access to a larger range of products.

LPD Electrical, which was founded in Leigh in 1997, offers electrical and wiring products to commercial and industrial customers as well as members of the public.

The company, which has two other branches in Old Trafford and Southport, has been based in smaller premises at the back of the industrial estate but founder Vincent Priest is committed to driving the business forward and moving into larger, more prominent premises on St Helens Road.

Vincent, who is also managing director of LPD Electrical, said: “Our new unit is much bigger and brighter than our old unit and it is extremely visible.

“We have had so many people dropping in and asking if we are a new business because they have never seen us before.

“We now have a huge front counter to serve customers and we can display more stock at the front as well as a much larger range of goods in our warehouse area.

“This move will be really good for us and has come at an ideal time.

“We have a very strong local customer base but we can also deliver right across the UK.

“Our new unit is not only very visible but it is much easier for our customers to drop in as we now have fantastic parking facilities too.

“Moss Industrial Estate has a brilliantly diverse range of businesses and we supply to other tenants too.

“There is fantastic security here and the site is well-maintained.

“I’m very proud of how far we have come and the future is certainly looking bright”

Moss Industrial Estate is a family-owned and family-run business with George Moss and Sons at the helm, having celebrated its centenary in 2020, and it is home to around 100 local businesses.

Neill Wood, managing director of Moss Industrial Estate, said: “This is a fantastic move for LPD Electrical and we are really pleased that we have been able to support their growth.

“We have a long history of helping local businesses to flourish and, given the tough we have all had, it is fantastic to hear success stories like this.

“I hope it will encourage other businesses to see what can be achieved and we wish them the best of luck in their new home.”
