A round-up of cases heard by magistrates recently

A MAN who harassed two elderly women has been given a suspended prison sentence. Nicholas Fisher, aged 42, of Rufford Drive, Bolton was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction. He pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment which occurred between June 10 and 13. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victims or going to Eastchurch Close, Farnworth.

A FORD Focus driver who had no licence or insurance has been banned from the roads for three months. T-Jay Glossop, aged 35, of Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on Tonge Moor Road on May 18. He was fined £120.

MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 16 weeks after he was convicted of attacking another man on November 24 last year. Kieran Byrne, aged 32, of Royal Court Drive, Bolton, had denied assaulting Ezekiel Epia but was found guilty following a trial. At the time of the offence Byrne was subject to a suspended prison sentenced for other acts of violence. He was ordered to pay his latest victim £100 in compensation.

A DRINK driver who was almost three times over the limit has been sentenced to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Thomas Berry, aged 29, of Melbourne Grove, Horwich, pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Peugeot 308 on Chorley New Road, Horwich, on June 27. He was banned from driving for two years and two months.

A DRIVER who had no licence or insurance has been fined after he drove carelessly on Wigan Road, Bolton, on April 19. Richard Sadler, aged 48, of Wesley Court, Westhoughton, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and having no licence or insurance. He was banned from applying for a licence for six months and fined £120 .

A MAN has been banned from the roads for 19 months after he was caught drink driving on Somerset Road, Bolton. Sam Dutton, aged 21, of Dicconson Lane, Aspull, had drunk double the legal alcohol limit when he drove a Ford Fiesta on June 27. He admitted committing the offence and was fined £300.

A WOMAN caught drink-driving in an Alfa Romeo on the East Lancs Road has been banned from holding a licence for 18 months. Laura Craigie, aged 33, of The Welland, Westhoughton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on June 19. She had drunk more than double the legal level of alcohol. Craigie was fined £120.

A WOMAN has been fined £250 after she racially abused another woman and damaged her window on August 20 last year. Ameerah Razwan, aged 32, of Pemberton Street, Little Hulton, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour and criminal damage. She was also fined a further £40 for failing to attend court and was ordered to pay £75 in compensation to her victim.
