EMERGENCY services were called to a flat fire on Saturday evening.
Four fire engines were mobilised to the upstairs flat in Woodvale Avenue, Hag Fold in Atherton.
Police and paramedics were also alerted.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "Around 6.20pm on the 4th September 2021 four fire engines from Bolton Central, Atherton, Leigh, and Hindley fire stations responded to a 999 call about smoke coming from a domestic property on Woodvale Avenue, Atherton.
"Firefighters extinguished a fire in an upstairs flat using breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and gas detector.
"Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service were in attendance. Fire crews were at the scene for approximately three and a half hours."
