THE SPINNING Gate shopping centre in Leigh has been hosting a number of festive events to spread some well needed Christmas joy this year.

The team at Spinning Gate have installed thousands of festive lights and decorations around the centre so families can celebrate and enjoy shopping this Christmas.

The decorations include high level curtain lights, atrium roof garlands, large blue twinkling bows and the star attraction; a huge 30ft Christmas tree decorated with hundreds of bronze, teal and gold baubles.

There has also been a number of free festive activities and workshops in the shopping centre throughout December.

Every Thursday to Sunday, Santa has been a resident of Spinning Gate, with children hearing his stories and handing letters to him in his grotto.

With Santa bringing the magic of Christmas to Leigh all the way up to Christmas Eve, little ones have been dressing up and loving coming to see him and his team of elves.

The festive fun will also continue each Saturday in December, with children's craft workshops, walk-around entertainment, carol singing along all on offer to get shoppers in to the Christmas spirit.
