POLICE seized a firearm and a machete from a property in Leigh.
Officers attended Nel Pan Lane, Leigh on Wednesday, January 5 to a report of a discovery of a firearm.

A Greater Manchester spokesperson said: "Police were called around 8.25pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 to a report of the discovery of a firearm at a property on Nel Pan Lane, Leigh.
"Officers attended and a firearm and machete have safely been recovered from the property.
"There is not believed to be any threat to the wider community.
"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests were made."
