THE borough’s commemorations for Holocaust Memorial Day will take place this Thursday, with two ceremonies scheduled.
Each year, Holocaust Memorial Day serves as a reminder of the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution and the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Two closed events will take place this Thursday, January 27, at 11am in Leigh and 2pm in Wigan.
The events will be live streamed on ‘This is Wigan’ Facebook channel for anyone who is unable to attend in person.
