A MAN from Leigh has been arrested after a serious incident outside a nightclub in Lancaster.

Lancashire police were called to the incident outside the Glow nightclub in Lancaster city centre at around 4.30am on Sunday, June 12.

The injured man, in his 20s, was punched during an altercation outside the nightclub, causing him to fall and his head on the ground.

The man had been inside Glow earlier in the night with a group of friends, but had been ejected.

Following the punch, he was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Lancashire Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Leigh on suspicion of Section 18 assault.

He has been bailed while detectives investigate the full circumstances of the incident.

They are especially keen to speak to a woman who officers believe had an interaction with members of the group of men inside the club earlier in the evening.

Detective Insp Dylan Hrynkow, of Lancaster CID, said: “This incident has left a young man very poorly in hospital and my thoughts are with his family at this time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.

“I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward and speak to us.

"I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who we understand had some interaction with at least one of the group inside the club which she reported to the management.

"She may be able to help our investigation and I’d be grateful if she could come forward if she sees this appeal.”
