The care company was launched in 2020 by husband and wife, Thomas and Georgia Pennington, who met whilst working for the British Army.

After serving on the frontline, Tom got a job working in the IT department at Home Instead’s national office in Warrington before deciding to open a local franchise with his wife, who worked as a telecommunications engineer.

The pair state they are "passionate about "bringing high-quality home care services to the local community and helping older people stay safe and well at home for as long as possible".

Since launching two years ago, they have grown the business and now employ 20 Care Professionals and three office-based members of staff who help their elderly clients remain living in their own homes.

They also achieved a ‘good’ rating in their first ever Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, praised for the quality of their care and support for clients.

Thomas Pennington, co-owner of Home Instead Leigh said: “We were delighted to welcome our team and the Mayor to officially open our new office.

"In the few years we have been open, we have been amazed by the growth we have achieved and the impact we have already had on our local community."

With the Mayor's attendance at Home Instead's new opening, she spoke with employees and clients about the service that they provide local people in the community.

Mayor Morgan added: “It was my pleasure to attend the official opening of the new office of Home Instead Leigh, and to meet Georgia, Tom and the Care Professional Team.

“The commitment and dedication of the team to deliver quality bespoke care at home for their clients is clear to see, it’s exceptional.

"I wish Home Instead well for the future.”

Local people are encouraged to drop by the new Home Instead office, which is also designed as an information hub for older people and for anyone who wants to know more about care and options available in the local area, or any groups and activities for older people locally.
