HERE is another great photograph which has been shared with the Journal by reader Albert Nuttall.

Al sent in this picture, which he says depicts Westleigh Recs amateur rugby league side and was taken in around 1949.

He said: "This photo was received from the widow of Jim Fearnley, Jim and family went to Australia on a £10 passage after the war.

"Jim is in the bottom right.

I think one or more played for Leigh eventually."

Al added that Jim went Down Under as an apprentice painter and decorator.

"He became a successful water colour artist in Brisbane.

"He said things got better when he swapped the big brush for the little one."
