TYLDESLEY born Ella Toone has helped England Women become European Champions.

For the first time in their history, England won the Women's Euros after a 2-1 win against Germany on Sunday, July 31.

Brought on as a 55th minute substitute, Ella Toone scored an incredible chip to put England in front in the 62nd minute.

After Lina Magull scored a 79th minute equaliser, the game was taken into extra time.

In front of 87,000 people at Wembley Stadium, Chloe Kelly then notched home a scrappy winner in the 110th minute.

Playing for Astley & Tyldesley Girls team while growing up, Ella Toone was the only girl footballer player at St George's Primary School and Fred Longworth High School.

The 22-year-old Manchester United midfielder is now part of a history making side who have won the Euros in front of a home crowd.
