TYLDESLEY'S Ella Toone is feeling "on top of the world" after she helped England Women become European Champions.

For the first time in their history, England won the Women's Euros after a 2-1 win against Germany on Sunday, July 31.

Brought on as a 55th minute substitute, Ella Toone scored an incredible chip to put England in front in the 62nd minute.

After Lina Magull scored a 79th minute equaliser for the Germans, the game was taken into extra time.

In front of 87,000 people at Wembley Stadium, Chloe Kelly then notched home the winner in the 110th minute.

There was plenty of praise Manchester United women's star Ella.

 

 

The former Fred Longworth High pupil took to social media to share her jubilantion.

"On top of the world", she said as she posed with the trophy.
