FIRE crews tackled a blaze after a large number of tyres were set alight in a HGV trailer.
Firefighters attended Warrington Road, Golborne, just before 11pm on Wednesday night, August 24, to tackle the flames.
Crews spent several hours to extinguish the blaze.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11pm on Wednesday 24 August, firefighters were called out to Warrington Road, Golborne where a large number of tyres had set on fire in a heavy goods vehicle trailer.
“Several fire engines from across Greater Manchester, including a Technical Rescue Unit and an aerial ladder platform, attended the scene, plus two fire engines from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"Fire crews used two hose reels, a thermal camera, lighting and other specialist equipment to extinguish the fire over several hours before making the scene safe.”
