STUDENTS at Fred Longworth High School have been hailed by teachers for their exam performance.

Youngsters celebrated their excellent examination results at the school.

School leaders said that "among the smiling faces there were some students who performed exceptionally well, with the large numbers of high grades they achieved making their hard work worthwhile".

The school said that top performers included: 

Michael Lord  – four 9s, four 8s and one 7

Aidan Stott – five 9s and 4 8s.

Shay Alldred – eight 9s and one 7

Emily Lloyd – three 9s, five 8s and one 7

Freya Stanton – four 9s, four 8s and one 7

Fintan Courtney - three 9s, four 8s and two 7s

Macy Dews - seven 9s and two 8s

Headteacher Paul Davies said: “We are proud of the achievements of all our students and it is particularly pleasing to see the happy and excited faces as students realised they have achieved what they need to take the next steps in their education.
