AUTUMN is here and pumpkin pickers are on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin patch. 

To decorate for the spooky season, or to use for a soulful recipe, pumpkins are in popular demand. 

Locations around the borough have been preparing their sites to offer plumpy pumpkins perfect for picking. 

Here are the perfect pumpkin patches near Leigh: 

Farmer Bertie's Pumpkin Patch

Farmer Bertie's popular pumpkin patch can be found opposite Bents Garden Centre, off Warrington Road.

With thousands of pumpkins to choose from, the farm is open every day from 10am to 5pm.

The dog-friendly patch is free entry and no booking required, with refreshments on site.

Grange Farm

Another popular place to grab a pumpkin for Halloween, families have been heading to Grange Farm, on Stonecross Lane, Lowton.

The farm also boasts a restaurant, plant centre, and farm shop where residents can purchase logs, wood, hay, and straw.

The family-friendly venue has also hosted a Pumpkin Festival this weekend, which has provided children's entertainment as well as delicious food and drink stalls.

The farm is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am to 4pm, while tickets for the festivals need to be booked online here.

Kenyon Hall Farm

As well as a fruitful pumpkin patch, Kenyon Hall Farm offers a farm shop, cafe, plant centre and play area.

With thousands of pumpkins to be picked, the farm, located on Winwick Lane, Croft, has been attracting families from across Warrington and neighbouring areas.

It is open everyday from 9am to 5pm, although tickets are  essential to visit the Pumpkin patch .
