A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Hindley Green, Wigan earlier this morning (Sunday, February 26)
Shortly after 6.30am, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a Volkswagen Golf on Atherton Road at its junction with Leigh Road.
It is believed the vehicle was travelling from Wigan towards Atherton and collided with railings at the junction.
Officers attended and it was established that a man in his 30s had suffered serious injuries and is currently still receiving hospital treatment.
Greater Manchester Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident - or may have dashcam or doorbell footage – to share it with the force Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) so it can help with their enquiries to understand what happened.
