THE Lottery Winners will perform a homecoming gig at the huge derby game between Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors at the end of the month.

With entertainment provided before each game at Leigh Sports Village so far this season, The Lottery Winners will be the latest band to get fans in the mood before the Wigan game on Thursday, March 30.

Following Leigh's return to the Super League, Scouting For Girls kicked off a theatrical start to the season against Salford, with 80s pop band T'Pau taking to the temporary stage before the huge win against St Helens.

Confirming their pre-game gig at the Sports Village, The Lottery Winners said: "Very proud to be playing at the Leigh vs Wigan game at Leigh Sports Village!

"We’re proud to be from Leigh, and playing that stadium is going to be a dream!

"It’s also gonna be on Sky Sports and they’re putting us playing on the telly! Exciting!"

Making a name for themselves from their Leigh base, the Lottery Winners are in the process of promoting their upcoming new album 'Anxiety Replacement Therapy', which will be released on Friday, April 28.

Their latest single, ‘Money’, was released last month and features a collaboration with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder.

Speaking to the League Express about the pre-game entertainment, Leopards Chairman Derek Beaumont said: "We are in the entertainment industry and we need to make our matches more entertaining than just a game of rugby.

“When people leave the stadium, even if the result isn’t what they wanted, we want them to think that they attended a good event and they’ll want to come again.

“I’m confident that we will have an evening that everyone will remember for a long time and that will appeal to a wide range of people who want to come and enjoy themselves.”

The Leopards are currently in a buoyant mood after a two-game winning streak and a scalp of the current Super League champions St Helens.

The team travel to Warrington on Friday, March 17, and then on to Hull FC on Saturday, March 25, with the Wigan game set to take place on Thursday, March 30.
