A man who was jailed for his part in a plot to flood the streets with hard drugs has been ordered to hand over thousands of pounds.

Jake Muldoon, 25, was sentenced in December 2021 after he was found to be one of a gang of five who planned to deal around £750,000 worth of cocaine and heroin across Atherton and Leigh.

He was brought back to Bolton Crown Court this week to hear how much he had gained from this scheme and how much could be retrieved from him.

Mark Kellet, prosecuting, said: “The available amount is £9,765.94 and I believe that the defendant would ask for three months to pay it.

“The period of default is six months.”

Muldoon, of no fixed address, was jailed for six and a half years in December 2021 after admitting to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

He was already serving a nine year sentence at the time, after attacking a fellow member of the gang of five in November 2019, stabbing him several times in the head.

Following the attack, Muldoon’s home was searched by police who found 50 wraps of crack cocaine and a further 150 deals of heroin.

But even after being jailed for the attack, Bolton Crown Court heard from Mr Kellett at the previous sentencing hearing how Muldoon had continued to orchestrate drug dealing while in prison.

His six-and-a-half-year prison sentence, handed down the December before last, was added to the nine years he was already serving.

Now brought back before Bolton Crown Court this week Huda Musa, defending, said that she accepted the amount of money demanded by the prosecution, pausing only to remind the judge that this came to a substantial sum.

She said: “Your honour will bear it in mind that this is up to the £10,000 mark.”

Recorder Philip Barnes accepted that the confiscation proceedings had now taken around two years but agreed with the amount set out.

Addressing Muldoon, he said: “So in your particular case you have three months which is the maximum amount of time that the law gives me to allow you to pay that sum.”

Recorder Barnes also made an order for forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
