A MAN has been arrested following a serious crash in Atherton earlier this week.
At around 11.55am on Thursday, August 10, it has been reported that a serious two-vehicle collision occurred on Leigh Road in Atherton.
Police and paramedics were quickly on the scene as the collision caused one of the cars to flip on its side and disrupted traffic, with police cordoning off the scene to deal with the incident.

The impact of the collision caused serious damage to the flipped car, and its occupant had to be taken to hospital for serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Following a short investigation, a man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 11.55am today (10 August 2023), officers responded to reports of a two vehicle RTC in Leigh Road, Atherton.
"One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, not currently believed to be life-threatening. A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing."
