A WOMAN has been charged with a public order offence in relation to a police bid to tackle anti-social behaviour in Leigh town centre.
Katherine Lyon, 51, from Leigh, has been charged under Section 5 of the Public Order Act with using behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Lyon has been bailed with conditions, including not to enter the town centre, including the Cenotaph war memorial.
Lyon is due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 27.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Katherine Lyon (13/02/1972) from Leigh has been charged with Section 5 of the Public Order Act (behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress).
"She has been bailed with conditions not to enter Leigh town centre, which includes the Cenotaph War Memorial.
"She will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday 27 September.
"These charges are in relation to ongoing work to tackle anti-social behaviour in Leigh town centre."
