A CHARITY was given the VIP treatment ahead of the Leigh versus Wigan Super League game.
Wigan and Young Leigh Carers were thrilled that Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors stepped up to support them at last week's derby game.
Team of carers and volunteers were outside the ground and in the fan zone before the game with charity collection buckets.
Young carers receive no statutory funding for respite, breaks and activities - with the charity relying on fundraising, grants and donations.
Ahead of the match, carers were also invited to attend Leigh Leopards ‘Captain’s Run’, watching the players train before collecting autographs and posing for photos.
