BURGLARS who tried to break into a house to steal the car keys to a new vehicle parked outside fled empty-handed after being disturbed.
The attempted break-in happened on Holden Road in Leigh, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 31.
Police are asking residents to check their security measures following the incident.

Greater Manchester Police said: "In the early hours of October 31, 2023, on Holden Road, Leigh, we believe several offenders attempted to gain entry into an address to obtain car keys for a new vehicle parked outside.
"The offenders were disturbed and made off empty-handed.
"Please check security measures that you have in place, keeping vehicle keys away from any windows/doors. If your car is keyless we advise that you place your car keys in a signal jamming box/pouch.
"If you see any suspicious activity, please let us know immediately on 999 or 101."
