AFTER a cold surge of Arctic air, Leigh was littered with snow this morning as much of the town resembled a winter wonderland.
The Met Office placed a yellow weather warning on much of the north of England today, which is set to bring snowy showers and icy cold weather until at least Thursday.
The cold weather does have the potential to cause travel disruptions and injuries, but it has created some pretty pictures as residents awoke to the untouched snow this morning.
With kids and pets revelling in the snow, and wintery scenes as people have made their way to work, here are some of the best pictures sent in by Journal readers.
