ONE person was rescued from the roof of a two-storey terraced house after an arson attack.
Four casualties were treated at the scene by paramedics after a fire broke out in Wilderspool Causeway shortly after 6.30am this morning, Monday.
Crews used a ladder to reach the roof to rescue one person trapped on top of the burning building.
Police are now investigating as the cause of the fire is being treated as 'suspicious'.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
Casualties were cared for by a Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service trauma technician and paramedics at the scene.
Three people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
An investigation is now underway to find out the cause of the fire.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious at this time and enquiries are ongoing."
Crime scene investigators remain at the scene.
One fire engine is still at the property.
Crews from Warrington, Lymm and Stockton Heath dealt with the incident.
