LEIGH Spinners Mill has passed on their heartfelt thanks to outgoing general manager Jo Platt after her election to the Leigh and Atherton parliamentary seat.
After Jo Platt lost the Labour seat in 2019, she became general manager of the Park Lane mill and oversaw a huge regeneration project which saw the mill become the home of more than 65 cultural businesses and organisations.
This has seen a music studio, art gallery, independent cinema, museum, gym, and a record shop open up shop in the mill, which unveiled its fifth and final floor with a 'Grand Opening' event last month.

With Ms Platt regaining the Leigh and Atherton seat for Labour at the general election on Thursday night, this means that she will be vacating her role at the mill.
Executive Trustee of the Leigh Building Preservation Trust and co-founder of Leigh Film Factory Paul Costello will now take over as interim general manager, with big plans still to come with the second mill also planned to be regenerated in the long term.
In a public statement, Leigh Spinners Mill said: "We are sure you have seen the news [of Jo Platt's election], which sadly means we have to say goodbye for now to our general manager, Jo Platt
."LBPT and all our tenants would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jo for her dedicated hard work over the past four years.
"Her unwavering commitment to building a thriving community for the 70 businesses that call Leigh Spinners Mill home will not be forgotten. We wish Jo every success.
"In the interim, Executive Trustee Paul Costello will step in as General Manager. And rest assured, it's business as usual at the mill.
"We invite everyone to visit us this Saturday and experience everything our vibrant bustling community has to offer.
"You'll be missed Jo."
