A FREE and jam-packed family festival will return to a park that is set for a large investment and improvement.
A popular event over the years, Firs Park Festival has attracted families and residents of all ages to the Lake Side park.
Taking place on Saturday, August 24, this year's event will host a huge range of stall holders, from wax melts and floral displays to arts and crafts, as well as a tasty selection of food and drink options.
With the festival set to take place from 11am to 4pm, there will also be live music and entertainment on show, as well as funfair rides, a fire engine, and street theatre.
Aiming to provide something for everyone, the council-organised event will also host a range of activities, such as fishing lessons and a climbing wall.

In addition to helping to organise the Firs Park festival, Leigh West councillors have helped to secure a huge investment package for upgrades at Firs Park.
£50,000 had been set aside for play upgrades at the park, but this bid fell through after it became clear that the budget was insufficient to deliver the necessary works.
With the need for improvements at Firs Park noted in the council's 'Play Strategy', a separate funding request of £80,000 has since been granted.
Concept drawings and discussions for the play upgrades will take place in the coming months, with the works scheduled for spring/summer 2025.
£42,000 has also been set aside for path improvements throughout the park, with work set to start in the coming weeks.
