A collector is appealing for help to find a missing brewery tray.

Richard Percival, a well-known collector of pre-World War Two brewery memorabilia, has been searching for a missing tray from an ex-Leigh brewery for over 40 years.

Mr Percival's extensive collection is said to be the largest of its kind in the UK, with around 1,500 pre-1970 trays, but he has struggled to lay his hands on a rectangular tray from the George Shaw & Co. Ltd Brewery.

Although he owns the round version of the tray, he is still missing a similar rectangular model.

In a statement, he said: "Despite collecting since 1982, I have never been able to find a rectangular tray from an ex-Leigh brewery."

He has made multiple appearances on TV discussing his collection and has recently expanded his presence online with a website dedicated to his prized items.

Mr Percival is urging anyone who might have information regarding the whereabouts of these pieces to contact him via email at richard.percival@hotmail.co.uk or through the contact form on his website.
