WIGAN Pride is set to return for its 10th anniversary with a packed day of celebration, colour, and music.

Taking place on Saturday, August 16, this year’s event features a headline performance from RuPaul’s Drag Race and Celebrity Big Brother star Danny Beard, alongside 80s pop icon Sonia.

A couple of weeks after the Pride in Leigh event, Wigan's event will showcase a line-up of regional talent, including The Voice UK’s Lauren Hope, vocalist Hayley Kent, drag artist Gypsy Darling, young musician El, and soul singer Romario Bryan.

Councillor Dane Anderton, cabinet member at Wigan Council, said: "I’m so proud that we’ve been a supporter of Wigan Pride since day one.

"Pride events are an important part of our calendar, bringing thousands of visitors together in joy and celebration. But more than that, Pride is a statement.

"A statement of love, of visibility, of unity. We can’t wait to see you there for this fantastic, free, family-friendly day out."
