WITH Christmas just around the corner, plenty of places are offering festive light trails for those both young and old to enjoy.

We decided to head to RHS Bridgewater in nearby Worsley to discover this year’s offering, RHS Glow 2025.

Running from November 26 until December 30, a standard adult ticket for this attraction costs £16.50, and a child ticket costs £9.25, with under 5s going free.

If you’re an RHS member, tickets are half price.

We arrived at around 6pm for our evening adventure, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting.

With most of the trail taking place outside, it’s important to make sure you wrap up warm for your visit, especially on these freezing winter nights.

My companions and I were impressed with the size and scale of the trail – every installation felt carefully curated and placed, with a kaleidoscope of colours brightening the already awe-inspiring gardens.

The lights allowed us to see the plants in a different way, with my guests remarking some of the flowers looked almost alien under the vivid, multi-coloured glow.

There was plenty of interactive installations for younger visitors, with colour changing light statues and rainbow swings.

Food and drink was located throughout the garden, with the opportunity to toast marshmallows, enjoy a slice of pizza, or sip on a hot drink as you strolled through the grounds.

We decided to wait until we’d finished exploring to enjoy a bratwurst in the RHS café at the end of our visit.

If you’re wanting to dine, I would recommend booking an earlier timeslot, as last orders are taken for food at 8pm.

I opted for a plain bratwurst, with my companions opting to try the festive alternative.

For £26 in total, we felt that the meal was good value for money, with everyone remarking on the quality of the sausage.

The portion sizes were also a plus, with no room left for dessert at the end!

If you want to experience a magical winter wonderland this Christmas, RHS Bridgewater is the place to be.

Tickets for Glow 2025 can be booked online.
