PUNK legends Buzzcocks release their new album this week.
The band, who were formed by Leigh-born Pete Shelley, alongside fellow Bolton Institute of Technology student, Howard Devoto, in 1976, went on to become one of the punk movement's biggest acts with hits such as What Do I Get, Promises and Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've).
After recording demos for a fourth album, Buzzcocks disbanded in 1981 with Shelley pursuing a solo career.
The band reunited in the early 1990s and toured with Nirvana in 1994 at the personal request of Kurt Cobain.

Shelley died on December 6 2018 from a suspected heart attack at his home in Tallinn, Estonia, but the band have carried on with long-time guitarist Steve Diggle taking on the vocals.
Buzzcock's 12th studio album, Attitude Adjustment, sees Diggle unite with bassist Chris Remington and Danny Farrent on drums.
Diggle said: “It’s punk rock with a Motown vibe! A new album should always have elements of surprise and create its own world, and this does. It avoids the cliché and expands the Buzzcocks’ magical journey.”
Buzzcocks are touring the UK and Europe throughout 2026.
