A LEIGH musician has found her new sound, as tickets fly off the shelves for her first headline show.

Zoe Unsworth, 27, from Leigh, has performed in cafes and bars around the borough and beyond for years, covering hits from artists such as Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton.

The Leigh native has now announced that she is set to host her first headline show, performing a range of covers and original music in Manchester next month.

Performing at the Castle Hotel alongside her seven-person band, the singer will showcase her new country sound, influenced by the artists she loves.

Tickets for the show were quick to sell, which saw the singer's first headline show completely sell out.

Speaking with Zoe about her upcoming show, she told the Journal: "The past year or so, I've been doing gigs across the North at festivals and country events, as well as going abroad as an opening act for other artists, and I wanted to do a show that was all my own.

"I wanted to use it as a way to say 'this is me, and this is what I'm about' for the first time really, and I just thought where better to do it than our closest city."

The setlist will include songs from Zoe's upcoming EP, such as 'On the Dancefloor', and 'Old Time Soul', as well as a cover of the popular country hit, 'You look like you love me' by Riley Green, following a viral moment that saw Zoe join the singer on stage in Manchester.

Speaking on the speed the tickets sold, she added: "It's gone way better than I expected, I was worried. I think it's always hard when people aren't massively familiar with your stuff, I think you do naturally go 'oh my God, is anyone going to turn up?'"

The intimate concert will see 80 guests listen to Zoe's upcoming EP and covers of popular songs, as the Leigh-born star prepares for continued success in her country music career both in the UK and abroad.
