Tyldesley is preparing to welcome a new addition to its music scene as Lemon Street Social Club gets ready to open its doors this weekend.

The brand new live music, comedy and events venue has transformed the former Tilwalds nightclub site into a modern 250 plus capacity performance space, complete with full professional PA and lighting.

The team behind the venture hopes the club will become a cornerstone of Tyldesley’s creative identity.

Co owner Janine Murphy said the town has long deserved a venue with the ambition to match its vibrant local talent.

She said: “Tyldesley, Atherton, Leigh and the surrounding areas have always been filled with musical talent, with new young local bands emerging all the time.

“We want to be able to give them a place to play and to be able to watch signed bands without having to travel into the city centres. “It’s also a great opportunity for Tyldesley, with the potential to bring in brand new people to the area.

The club aims to attract touring acts from across the country, while also nurturing emerging performers from Tyldesley, Atherton, Leigh and surrounding areas. Lemon Street Social Club officially opens on Saturday, March 7, with a launch night showcasing some of the region’s rising stars: The Florentenes, Tilly Louise, Kahula and Olivia Booth. Tickets are £10.

Tickets have now sold out via lemonstreetsocial.club
