The Three Towns society bagged three awards at a regional evening.

The group picked up two accolades for their production of Die Fledermaus, performed at St Joseph’s Hall in Leigh last May.

John Matthias and Pamela Heywood-Connor were awarded The Best Comedy Duo, with Phil Boardman named Best Musical Director.

The society also won Best Concert in November, noted for its wide array of musical numbers.

The North West Regional Awards were held at the Last Drop Village Hotel, Bolton, on February 14, featuring a Valentine's Day theme.

Liz Hume-Dawson, the regional representative of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association), presented the trophies.

The prize-winning team will now progress to the NODA North West Awards night at the Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel, Manchester.

The Three Towns, along with their principals, received 13 nominations in total for Die Fledermaus.

Looking ahead, the group is busily preparing for their production of The Yeomen of the Guard, which will be performed at St Joseph's Hall in Leigh from May 19-23.

Tickets are available online at www.thethreetowns.net, over the phone on 07476341018, or from Sawyer Models in Leigh (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, cash only).
