A BAND set to take centre stage in a stadium celebration is looking forward to a show that will "prove what is possible".
Lottery Winners will play their biggest-ever UK headline show at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The performance marks a career-defining homecoming for the Leigh-based group, who have risen from cult favourites to chart-topping artists in recent years.
'Proof of what’s possible when you keep on keeping on'
Thom Rylance, frontman of Lottery Winners, said: "Leigh Sports Village isn’t just another show for us.
"It’s a marker of everything we’ve worked for.
"From loading gear into pubs to travelling the world, every step has led here.
"To headline a stadium at home is rare, and we don’t take that lightly.
"This night will stand as proof of what’s possible when you keep on keeping on.
"Headlining Leigh Sports Village is special in itself but doing it here in our hometown – surrounded by the people who’ve supported us from the very start – makes it truly unforgettable.
"The fact that we get to welcome legends and friends like Frank Turner, Reverend and the Makers and Scouting for Girls to our town feels incredible.
"It’s Leigh opening its doors to the world, and we’re proud to be the ones hosting."
Special guests
The band will be joined on stage by special guests Frank Turner and Reverend and the Makers, with more to be announced.
Supporting acts will include Scouting for Girls, The Lilacs, and a DJ set from Katie Owen.
Lottery Winners will become only the fourth act to headline Leigh Sports Village Stadium, following in the footsteps of Elton John in 2014 and Lionel Richie in 2018.
Billy Ocean is set to perform at the venue the night before.
The concert forms part of a broader initiative to highlight limited access to the arts in Leigh and across the wider Wigan borough.
Alongside the show, the band is working with schools, launching a “Song for Leigh” project co-written with young local artists through Arts Council-supported funding, and supporting a documentary about the event by emerging filmmakers from the area.
These efforts are designed to strengthen Leigh’s bid to become the UK’s first Town of Culture.
The band will also be awarded a Believe Star in May – the highest honour given to a resident of Wigan borough.
Previous recipients include Sir Ian McKellen, Keely Hodgkinson, and Ella Toone.
Lottery Winners are made up of Thom Rylance, Rob Lally, Katie Lloyd, and Joe Singleton.
They are the only act from Leigh to achieve a UK No.1 album.
Their 2023 record Anxiety Replacement Therapy was followed last year by KOKO, which further cemented their status as one of the country’s most beloved bands.
The show follows a string of major achievements, including main stage festival appearances, national radio airplay, TV slots, and a high-profile tour supporting Robbie Williams.
Robbie Williams said: "I’ve completely fallen in love with the Lottery Winners, and even when the tour was just two weeks in, I had a pang of sadness that their tenure with me can’t last forever."
