A TEENAGER has released a charity single in memory of her younger brother.
Thirteen-year-old Millie Simpson, from Greater Manchester, recorded Spirit in the Silence to raise funds for Derian House and to honour her brother Link, who died at the age of four.
The song, which launched on April 21, marks four years since his passing and is now available on Amazon Music, Apple Music, and other major streaming platforms.
Millie, who lives in Leigh with her parents Clare and Bradly and sister Sophie, said: "I wanted the song to feel like it belongs to anyone.
"While I have dedicated this song to Link, I hope that others listening feel as though they can resonate with it – whether they have lost someone they love, or have suffered heartbreak.
"I’ve always written songs and I’ve always loved music."

She said the song is meant to offer comfort to anyone experiencing loss or heartache.
Millie began writing the song a few years ago and returned to it about a year ago, working with a recording studio to bring it to completion.
It was produced by Neil Treppas at Artist Sounds Recording Studio in Chorley, who has worked with artists such as Steps and Laura White.

The single aims to raise funds for Derian House, the children's hospice that cared for Link and supported the Simpson family.
Clare Simpson, Millie's mother, said: "Proud is not a strong enough word to describe how I feel about Millie.
"She is incredibly bright, talented, and creative in so many different ways.
"We hope that her song reaches far and wide and that other people can resonate with the lyrics.
"Link loved life, and he would be proud that Millie is doing something she loves.

"Derian House supported us when Link passed away.
"They gave us the opportunity to say goodbye to him in our own unique way.
"Without supporters raising funds, the hospice wouldn’t be able to do what they do for families like ours."

Clare will also be taking on a 30-mile trek across the Sahara Desert in November to raise further funds for Derian House.
Kerry Salmon, community fundraiser at Derian House, said: "We were lucky enough to hear Millie’s song first and we are absolutely blown away.
"We think it’s fantastic that she would like to donate the proceeds to help children and families at Derian House."
