NEARLY 400 people have expressed interest in just 34 new homes.

The houses, being built by Elan Homes in Leigh at the Brook Gardens development on Alderley Lane.

The homes will initially be released for sale off-plan through Elan’s Garrett Hall Fields development in nearby Mosley Common.

Brook Gardens will include a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom homes designed for first-time buyers, families, and downsizers.

Marie Morris, regional sales and marketing director at Elan Homes, said: "The level of enquiries we’ve received about the homes we’re building in Leigh reflects housing demand in the area.

"Local needs helped inform our plans and we’re looking forward to updating potential purchasers about our progress.

"Rather than wait until it’s safe to have a sales office open at Brook Gardens, which is likely to be a few months away yet, we’ll be inviting those who’ve registered their interest to meet the sales team at Garrett Hall Fields.

"They will be able to guide would-be homeowners through the site and floor plans, giving them the chance reserve off plan.

"There’s still time for would-be homeowners to join the VIP list."

The homes will include a host of energy-efficient features including solar panels, waste water heat recovery systems, triple-glazed windows and electric vehicle charging points.

Ms Morris said: "Research from the HBF and Octopus Energy found that upgrading an older home to match the energy efficiency of a new build home would cost anything from £23,100 to £83,000.

"Reserve a new home in Leigh at the earliest opportunity and you’ll skip the renovations and repair bills and enjoy the fun of buying a new build home.

"Those who reserve off plan in the development’s early stages will have plenty of opportunities to customise their new home before moving in by selecting things like the finish of the kitchen, the flooring and bathroom tiles."

Elan is working towards opening a show home at Brook Gardens in the summer.
