MUSIC fans are gearing up for a weekend of entertainment at Leigh Sports Village.

Billy Ocean and The Lottery Winners are set to perform on May 29 and May 30, respectively.

With both concerts expected to attract large crowds, organisers have issued important information for attendees.

Stadium gates will open at 5pm, following the opening of external food and drink outlets at 1pm.

The concert box office will open at 4pm.

The festivities are expected to continue until the curfew at 10.40pm.

Concert-goers are reminded that their tickets grant access to specific areas of the stadium only.

These areas are equipped with ample toilet facilities and food and drink outlets.

However, once inside, attendees will not be permitted to move between different sections of the stadium.

Re-entry will also be prohibited for those who choose to leave the event site.

With limited parking available at the Leigh Sports Village site, concert-goers are encouraged to use public transport where possible.

Parking will only be available to those with pre-booked VIP hospitality and accessible parking.

Alternative authorised local car parks have been recommended.

These include Pennington Flash Nature Reserve, Leigh Miners, Leigh Rugby Union Club, and various Leigh town centre car parks.

However, all pre-booked spaces at Pennington Flash Nature Reserve have now sold out.

A limited number of spaces will be made available on the day for £20 per vehicle on a first-come, first-served basis.

Concert-goers are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Public transport is being heavily promoted as an alternative to driving.

Leigh Sports Village is a 15-minute walk from Leigh Bus Station, and bus services operate directly to Leigh from all major neighbouring towns including Wigan, Warrington, Bolton, Chorley, St Helens, and Manchester.

Guided busway services V1 and V2 will run hourly throughout the night to Tyldesley, Salford, and Manchester City Centre.

The walking route from the stadium to the guided bus stop will be stewarded throughout the evening for additional safety.

Big Green Coaches, the official travel partner for both concerts, are offering sustainable coach travel from a number of key UK town and city centre locations.

Train links are also available, with services from Liverpool and Manchester stopping at Newton-le-Willows.

From there, concert-goers can take the number 34 bus directly to Leigh.

Atherton Train Station is another option, with the 582 bus providing a direct link to Leigh Bus Station.

For those opting to take a taxi, the usual drop-off point by Car Park 3 will be available.

Concert-goers are advised to inform taxi drivers to enter via Marshall Street on the North East side of the site.

A catering village will be open in front of the main stadium from 1pm each day, serving both ticket holders and members of the public.

A variety of fast-serve food options and a full bar will be available, along with a gin bar provided by local provider Gindependant.

The catering village will remain open until midnight, with food-only service post-concert.

Inside the fenced event village, a number of food and drink outlets and bars will be available.

Free drinking water will be accessible at all onsite bars.

A number of items are prohibited from being brought into the stadium site, including alcohol, large bags, selfie sticks, professional cameras, and food and drink (except 500ml sealed water bottles).

Concert-goers are also reminded that no smoking or vaping is permitted within the stadium site.
