A HISTORIC manor house will host its annual summer garden party this August.

Damhouse Astley, a Grade II listed building on Astley Hall Drive in Astley, will host the event on Saturday, August 8 from 10.30am to 5.30pm.

The event promises a day of family-friendly entertainment set among 17 acres of woodland.

Katie Scotton, Manager at Damhouse, said: "The Summer Party is a popular feature in our annual calendar of events.

"It is free to attend and there is plenty to keep children entertained.

"All monies raised will help us to conserve Damhouse Astley, a Grade 2 listed property in the heart of Astley."

The garden party will feature live music from local bands, a makers’ market, vintage games, a bouncy castle, bar and refreshments.

Children can look forward to appearances from children’s entertainer Louby Lou.

A dog show will be hosted by Makants Greyhound Rescue.

Damhouse is a 16th century manor house dating back to 1595.

It is now home to a number of local businesses.

The heritage trust is raising funds to conserve Damhouse Astley.

The event will include free parking at St Stephen’s Primary School playing fields.
