THE Met Office has forecast a mixed weekend for Leigh, with a damp start on Friday and the warmest weather arriving on Sunday.
Friday will start off unsettled with light showers in the morning, but conditions will improve as the day progresses.
The maximum temperature will be 19°C, with a minimum of 11°C.
The highest chance of rain will be between 6am and 9am, reaching 50-60 per cent, before dropping to 30 per cent by late morning and then below 20 per cent through the afternoon.
Winds will be light, starting from an easterly direction at around 2-6mph early on, increasing to around 10-11mph during the afternoon.
Gusts could reach up to 25mph at times.
Cloud will dominate early in the day with occasional light showers, but brighter intervals should develop through the afternoon.
The best time for outdoor plans appears to be from mid-afternoon onwards when the rain risk becomes very low and temperatures sit around 18-19°C.
Saturday will bring a cool start, but overall it should be the driest and brightest day of the weekend.
The maximum temperature will be 19°C, with a minimum of 10°C.
There remains a chance of a few early showers, with rain probabilities of 50-60 per cent between 6am and 9am, easing steadily through the morning to 20 per cent by midday, 10 per cent by early afternoon, and below 5 per cent from mid-afternoon through the evening.
Winds will remain relatively light at 3-11mph, with forecast gusts up to 24mph.
Expect a mixture of cloud and sunshine through much of the day, with increasingly sunny conditions from late afternoon.
By the evening, skies should become largely clear.
Sunday is set to be the standout day of the weekend, bringing warmer temperatures and long spells of dry weather.
The maximum temperature will be 23°C, with a minimum of 15°C.
Rain risk remains very low for most of the daylight hours, sitting at below 5 per cent from morning until mid-afternoon.
Winds will be very light throughout, generally 2-7mph, with maximum gusts of around 16mph.
There should be extensive sunny intervals mixed with patches of fair-weather cloud.
Temperatures will steadily rise through the day, reaching 21-23°C during the afternoon.
