Janet Dillon (née Dorling)
1942 - 2026
Janet, formerly Shuttleworth, nee Dorling, died peacefully on August 1, 2026, at Warrington Hospital after a short illness.
Born on February 27, 1942, Janet was the Mother of Peter, Paul, and Susan; Aunt to many nephews and nieces, and devoted Grandmother to Lisa, Andrew, and Hannah; being a Great-Grandmother to Isabelle, Faith, and Jay Jay.
Janet was a lifelong friend to Jeanette and many more in Leigh, Blackpool and beyond – especially at Ward & Goldstones where she worked.
She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The funeral service will take place at St Peter’s Church (Firs Lane, WN7 4SB), on Friday, August 21 at 11.30am.
Thereafter, she will be taken to Leigh Cemetery (Manchester Road, WN7 2NT) and buried alongside her Mother and Father.
Janet requested that those present at her funeral wear a smile and an item of red clothing and join her family for a bite to eat afterwards at Leigh East (10 Leopard Avenue, WN7 4GY).

Doreen Johnson (née Corner)
1934 - 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Doreen Johnson announces her passing on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 91.
Doreen passed away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, following a short illness.
Doreen, wife of Thomas Alan Johnson (deceased), was a local school teacher and stalwart member of St Joseph's Dramatic Society.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, 1.30pm at St. Joseph's Church and 2.30pm at Howe Bridge Crematorium.
