A show home is set to open in Leigh, giving buyers a first look at a long-awaited housing development.
Elan Homes will open the doors to its new show property at Brook Gardens on Alderley Lane during the weekend of August 15 and 16.
The 2.7-acre site was acquired by Elan last summer, though it had been earmarked for housing by Wigan Council more than 10 years ago.
Marie Morris, Elan regional sales and marketing director, said: "Around 500 people have enquired about our new homes in Leigh, which demonstrates the need for housing in the area.
"We’ll soon be opening the doors to a professionally styled and fully furnished show home, giving buyers their first real insight into what life in a new home in Leigh could be like."
The show home is a four-bedroom semi-detached Oakdale-style property, offering 1,425 sq ft of living space across three floors.
Brook Gardens comprises 34 homes in total, with two, three, and four-bedroom options available.
A two-bedroom Belmont style home starts at £229,995, while the Oakdale is priced from £429,995.
Each property includes energy-efficient features such as solar panels, waste water heat recovery systems, triple glazing and electric vehicle charging points.
Elan is offering part exchange options for buyers who need to sell an existing property.
Community investment totalling nearly £60,000 has been secured through section 106 contributions.
This includes funding for improvements to Pennington Hall Park and Dootson’s Park, as well as a biodiversity contribution for off-site tree planting.
