A CLASSIC comedy is set to return to the stage for audiences to enjoy once again.

Noël Coward’s ghostly comedy Blithe Spirit will be performed by St Joseph’s Players at St Joseph’s Hall in Leigh, running from September 29 to October 3.

Gabrielle Fitzsimmons, chairperson of St Joseph’s Players, said: "Coward’s writing is as witty and wickedly funny now as it was when first performed in 1941.

"It is a joy to bring this timeless comedy to our stage."

The comedy follows novelist Charles Condomine, who invites medium Madame Arcati to conduct a séance for research.

Things take a turn when the ghost of his first wife Elvira appears, leading to a chaotic love triangle from beyond the grave.

Directed by Barbara Mayers, the production promises an evening of laughter and mischief.

Performances begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for under 16s.

Tickets are available from ticketsource.co.uk/st-josephs-players or payable on the door.
