A MIXED weekend is on the way for Leigh, with rain, sunshine, and breezy conditions.

Friday will be the coolest day, with temperatures peaking at 15C.

The day will be mostly cloudy, with patchy rain developing.

Rain chances will start at 20 to 40 per cent in the morning, increasing to 50 to 60 per cent by early afternoon and into the evening.

Winds will be light, generally 2 to 4mph, with a maximum gust of around 13mph.

Saturday will be the brightest day of the weekend, with sunny intervals after a cool start.

Temperatures will rise to 19C, feeling pleasantly mild in any sunshine.

Most of the day looks dry, with rain probabilities remaining below 5 per cent through much of the morning, rising only to around 20 to 30 per cent during the afternoon.

Winds will increase compared with Friday, generally 3 to 8mph, with gusts reaching around 21mph at times.

The best window for outdoor plans runs from late morning through mid-afternoon, when temperatures peak around 18 to 19C and the risk of rain remains relatively low.

Sunday starts relatively bright but becomes increasingly unsettled as rain develops.

Temperatures will reach 18C, although rain and stronger breezes will make it feel cooler during the afternoon.

Early morning rain chances remain relatively low at 10 to 20 per cent but increase sharply through late morning.

By lunchtime and throughout much of the afternoon, probabilities climb to 60 to 70 per cent, making wet weather increasingly likely.

Winds will be noticeably stronger than on previous days, generally 6 to 9mph, with gusts reaching around 27mph.

Cloud will thicken through the day, bringing widespread light rain and showers.

Any brighter spells are most likely during the morning, with conditions becoming increasingly damp from late morning onwards.

The best opportunity for outdoor activities is before midday, before rain becomes more persistent.

Overall, temperatures remain fairly steady through the weekend, with Friday the coolest at 15C, before climbing to 19C on Saturday and easing slightly to 18C on Sunday.
