TWO men have been charged with a combined 38 shoplifting offences following an investigation by Wigan police into a series of thefts spanning nine police force areas.

Royston Perry, 59, and Patrick Gleave, 37, both of Deykin Avenue, Birmingham, have each been charged with 19 counts of shoplifting.

The charges follow an investigation by Greater Manchester Police's Wigan District Investigation Team into a reported series of thefts.

Both men have been bailed and are due to appear before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on December 9.

GMP said the investigation covered reported thefts across nine different police force areas.
