A NEW route from Newquay Airport has been announced today.

Scandinavian Airlines will launch direct flights from Newquay to Copenhagen later this month.

Operating twice per week in each direction on a Monday and Friday between June 21 and August 19, flights will operate on a 90-seat regional jet, with tickets starting from £82 each way, or from £153 return, including all taxes and charges.

The new route brings Denmark’s capital within a two-hour flight from Cornwall and additionally offers travellers connections across the SAS network to more than 125 worldwide destinations including Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

The new service follows on from the airline’s route launch between London Stansted and Copenhagen in April and brings direct SAS routes to the Danish capital from seven UK airports, also including from London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Flights from Newquay will operate on Monday and Fridays in each direction, making them well-timed for a weekend break,with flights departing Newquay at 7.05pm, arriving into Copenhagen at 10.10pm, and returning from Copenhagen at 5pm, arriving into Newquay at 6.25pm.

Copenhagen is under the spotlight after being voted the number one city to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet. With an abundance of new hotel openings including Hotel Ottilia, Marriott Moxy Copenhagen, and Wakeup Copenhagen, as well as 15 Michelin starred restaurants, such as newly awarded Noma to choose from, holidaymakers have plenty to explore.
