MEG Boydell's introduction to international football was cut short after playing in the first match of England Under-15s' double header against Holland.
The Bedford High School pupil put in a polished performance at left-back in a 1-1 draw at Warwick University last Wednesday.
She was one of the few who played in the first game to be selected for Friday's re-run but had to be withdrawn from the team after picking up an injury in training.
The 14-year-old footballer, who still turns out for her school side, started playing for Eastleigh Juniors before moving to the Liverpool Centre of Excellence five years ago.
She was this year voted player of the season by her Liverpool team-mates and was one of only four girls from the North West to be included in the England squad.
