ATHERTON moved above Astley and Tyldesley into fourth place in the Bolton Association after winning by three wickets at home to their local rivals.
The visitors posted 154-8 as both Dave Harrison (36) and Aaron Booth (32) made decent knocks while Joshua Gilluley (3-34) finished with the best bowling figures for Atherton.
A rain delay left the home side chasing a revised target of 142, and while A&T bowler Jimmy Cutt took 4-33 he was unable to stop Atherton passing their target following a half century from Callum Barlow (58) and a quick-fire 26 from Paul Walsh added 26 late in the innings.
