WORK is progressing well on the re-build of the Astley and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club track at Gin Pit.
Contractors have spent the past fortnight ripping out the track edging stones, concrete and safety fence.
The remodelled track has been marked out and the levels set, ready for the construction of the new banked circuit. Works are due to be completed at the end of April.
The women’s section, led by Denise Bailey-Scott, are organising leisure road rides every Saturday from the car park at the Bull’s Head, 504 Manchester Road, Astley, at 8.30am.
Alternatively, riders can join the group at the Greyhound roundabout in Leigh, at the junction of the A580 and A574, at 8.45am.
